BlueViews - Ann Albers

Wednesday, September 28th, 2005

I frequently post a "Message from the Angels" that is channeled by my friend Ann Albers, an amazing woman and spiritual intuitive.  You can subscribe to Ann’s weekly newsletter at http://www.visionsofheavean.com.  Ann has published her first book, and I wanted to be sure that everybody knows about it!  Here’s the info from Ann…

I’m very excited to announce that I finally have a book out! On July 11th this year I gave a lecture on "Bridging the Gap between Christianity and Mysticism." I had many requests to make this discussion available to the general public so as of 3:33 this morning, it has been released! You can order it here, either in print form or via download. The printed book takes a couple of weeks sometimes. The download is immediate:

I will also have copies at angel day.

I believe we can find a deep and loving connection to God no matter what our faith or spiritual basis. I also believe that Jesus Christ was both human and Divine and came, not only to teach us that we are as well, but to perform an energetic initiation in human consciousness that would make new levels of love accessible to the human race for those of ALL beliefs and religious persuasions. It is with the intent to heal deep old wounds between those of various beliefs that I offer you this book.

Jesus is the being, Christ is the consciousness He embodied. We all have that consciousness latent in us, like a seed waiting to grow when watered with our love and prayers. We all have the ability to learn to heal, forgive sins, and show more compassion to ourselves and others. No matter what your faith this discussion will heal your heart, allow you to find a deep and loving connection with Jesus regardless of spiritual persuasion, and give you perspectives to help you connect with those of different faiths. This is a loving and heartfelt discussion about the mystical side of Christianity, based on understandings I have gathered from a lifetime of prayer and meditation.

There is also a question and answer section in the back based on questions asked by attendees at my original lecture. We cover deep topics such as suicide, evil, dark spirits, and how there is truly nothing outside of God.

This is not about religion. This is about Love :)

Love you all!

Ann

BlueViews - Bikram’s Yoga Scottsdale

Monday, September 26th, 2005

For a friend’s birthday I had given her a 30-day yoga pass at Bikram’s Yoga Scottsdale. It had been a long time since I had tried hot yoga too. The hot yoga studio Mom, Dad and I went to back then wasn’t a certified Bikram practice, like where Mom goes now.

It was my friend’s first class and she did great. I pushed pretty hard in the first half of the yoga class and burned out early, getting dizzy and overheating as we worked on backbends. I couldn’t seem to cool down or get my heart rate down… even after I stopped following Eric’s instructions and was just sitting on my mat motionless, wiping sweat from my face from time to time and guzzling down my water.

It surprised me because, although I’m used to the poses, the heat really affected me more than I had anticipated. After class Eric said that it is common to get headaches when new. It’s from being dehydrated. He advised drinking plenty of water, maybe taking a nap this afternoon, and coming back for another class sooner than later so our muscles wouldn’t get too sore. I bought a box of strawberry Emergen-C and dumped four packs into my water bottle.

The Bikram Yoga Series is a challenging, 90-minute workout that improves physical strength, flexibility, and balance while enhancing mental clarity and focus. The practice is a sequence of 26 postures, including two breathing exercises performed in a heated environment. The heat accelerates the rate of change within the body, improves circulation, helps to eliminate toxins, and significantly reduces the risk of injury during deep stretching. No special equipment, props or clothing is required.

The Bikram Series was tailored for the Western person and specifically for our cultural problems of job stress, overeating, bad posture and aggressive lifestyles. Bikram scientifically formulated and demonstrated yoga’s ability to regenerate tissue and cure chronic ailments. An exact technique and a series of fixed poses, the class will bring health and peace to anyone.

BlueViews - Sierra Bonita Grill

Saturday, September 24th, 2005

I really enjoy hanging out with my parents on the weekends. Friday nights we sometimes go exploring new restaurants. The Luks love to eat! Sierra Bonita Grill recently opened not too far from my parents’ house. On 7th Street, the restaurant is just southeast of the Exxon on Glendale Avenue. It was relatively crowded when we walked in and smelled GREAT. We were all hungry. No problem, the hostess seated us without a second’s delay at a corner booth by the kitchen. Our waitress Kathy was totally on top of service. Attentive with a huge dimpled smile, she was quick with our questions, orders, drink refills, and frequently checked back to see if we needed anything. The food was an exceptional value. We highly recommend:

Azteca Soup (Oaxacan chile broth with chicken, avocado, cilantro, queso panela, lime and crispy corn tortilla strips) - Cup $3, Bowl $7 - If you’re a light eater, a bowl of soup is hearty and filling.

Carne Asada (Grilled marinated 10 oz. shoulder tender steak with charro beans, guacamole, grilled mexican spring onions, indian salsa and flour tortillas) - $18

Pork Shank (Slow braised shank with hatch green chile sauce, skillet potatoes with onions and bacon) - $18

Grilled Halibut (It was the night’s special and my scattered recollection of its description certainly won’t do it justice… it had a mango sauce and came with spinach and tomatoes… Delicious!)

Pecan Crusted Rainbow Trout (Served with skillet potatoes with onions and bacon. Topped with maple butter sauce and roasted red bell peppers) - $17

Crepes (with carmelized pineapple, spiced pecans, caramel sauce and vanilla bean ice cream) - $6

The restaurant manager Nate Hopper chatted with us as we waited for Kathy to run our bill. As they settle in and get more established, there are plans to open a prep kitchen and hold a "Tamale Drive" with proceeds going to a children’s charity. Now how cool would it be to get the community involved to "Drive Fast 4 Kids with Cancer" every holiday season with totally different kinds of drives? 2005 we’re breaking Guiness World Records at Bondurant… 2006 we’re mixing corn masa?! LOL whatever we end up doing, you know we’ll be having fun. Namaste :)

Fast 4 Kids and Bondurant SuperKart Partner for World Record Event

Golf Tournament Proceeds to Benefit Kids with Disease and Disability

The Fast 4 Kids Foundation, an Arizona-based non-profit that is “Driving Fast 4 Kids with Cancer,” announces its support and participation in the 2005 Laps for Kids World Record Drive, to benefit Victory Junction Gang Camp and local charities. Fast 4 Kids, Laps for Kids, and Victory Junction Gang Camp are charitable organizations with a racing theme that aim to improve the lives of children.

Earlier this year, Laps for Kids announced an attempt to raise an unprecedented $1 million on December 10 & 11, 2005 at Bondurant SuperKart School in Chandler, AZ. Their kart team is set to challenge the Guinness World Record for the Highest Go-Kart Mileage in 24 hours on an outdoor circuit by a four-man team. The race team includes team captain Gary Kannegiesser, national karting champion Alan Rudolph, rising young driver Tim Megenbier, plus a driver yet to be named. The final driver will be selected in a driver search by one of their sponsors.

In conjunction with the Bondurant SuperKart School, the Fast 4 Kids Foundation will partner in driving towards Laps for Kids’ fundraising goal by hosting a charity golf tournament on Sunday morning, December 11th, 2005, at the Whirlwind Golf Club at Wild Horse Pass in Chandler, AZ. The tournament features a $1 million shootout, Bondurant victory hot laps and auto cross contest. Foursomes and a variety of tournament sponsorships are available, all of which include tickets to a dinner/auction event at the Bondurant Museum on Saturday, December 10th, 2005. Gilbert resident and Motorsports Hall of Famer Bob Bondurant will serve as honorary event chair.

From 1-4 PM on Sunday, December 11th , 2005, the public is invited to join in the excitement and “take a victory lap for kids with us” by celebrating at the Bondurant SuperKart School when the current Highest Go-Kart Mileage of 1,062.5 miles (1,709.9 km) set in 1997 by a team in Northern Ireland has been surpassed by an American karting team.

The Fast 4 Kids Foundation hopes to raise $50,000 to send children from Arizona hospitals and care facilities to the nationally recognized Victory Junction Gang Camp. Founded by actor Paul Newman, Kyle and Pattie Petty to honor Adam Petty, Victory Junction’s mission is to enrich the lives of children who suffer with chronic or life-threatening illnesses. Victory Junction’s 75 acre site has more than 36 buildings, including dining hall, gym, pool, theater, therapeutic center, arts and crafts center, race shop, and 16 camper cabins. The Victory Junction Gang Camp, which is also a charity of NASCAR, opened June of 2004 and is free to children and their families.

Laps For Kids Crew Members

The Laps for Kids Team Profiles:

Gary Kannegiesser, 57, of Avon Lake, Ohio will captain the Laps for Kids race team to break a world record and bring exposure, prestige, and publicity to the karting industry. Timmy Megenbier, 13, of Melrose Park, Illinois, has recently added a 5th place finish in the Rotax World Finals to a growing list of accomplishments.
